MS Outlook I sent an email for the 1st time. I hit send & now it says its in my outbox.?

It says it hasn't been sent yet no matter if I hit send from the outbox. So, now ow do I know if it's sent or not?

If the mail is sent, it should be on the Sent Items folder. So, if it's still on the Outbox folder, it haven't been sent yet.
