Ms.
When adressing a woman in an email, should i use mrs. or ms.?
Use Ms.
I don't know why we even keep the Miss or Mrs. address; a woman's marital status is totally irrelevant in almost any situation. There's no address for a married man... the use of Mrs. or Miss is wholly inappropriate.
I never type anything but Ms. in any of my correspondence. I wish the others would be officially dropped from usage.
Reply:Always use "ms" (There is no period after the "s" because it is not an abbreviation much like miss; only mrs. is an abbreviation.) if you don't know the woman's marital status.
Reply:I don't always address an e-mail with the name like that.
Sometimes I just write:
Hello,
I am writing you to...........
But I wouldn't suggest using either. I hate when people write it wrong for me. If you have her first name write like "Dear Jane Smith" or something like that.
Also, do you know her age? Because if you use Ms. and she's a Miss. it may be insulting.
In all doubt though if you have to use a title, use Ms.
Reply:Ms - if you don't know.
It is not insulting to use Ms if a person is a Miss or a Mrs.
There is no . in Ms as it is not an abbreviation.
Miss is for children and for women over 70 who were around before Ms began in common use or when you absolutely know a woman is unmarried.
Reply:ms. when you don't know if she's married.
Reply:pretty sure ur supposed to use Ms
Reply:Mrs if you know she is married.
Miss if you know she is not married.
Ms if you don't know whether she is married or not.
Reply:Use Ms. if your not sure if she's married or not.
Reply:ms. or madam.
if its formal, which its likely to be if you dont know if shes married or not, then madam.
calling her miss if shes married could be found offensive, as would mrs if she isnt.
Reply:If married mrs otherwise ms. if in doubt always use Ms.
Reply:It's best to use "Ms." if you don't know her marital status.
Reply:hey well if your not sure if she is married or not your safest bet would be to adress her with ms..thats for single%26amp; married goodluck...
Reply:Since you don't know her marital status, use "Ms."
Reply:You should use Ms. if unaware of marital status.
Reply:MS.
i always always always use ms.
unless they tell me themselves that they are married.
Reply:Mrs. is technically the use when you're not sure.
